NB Tyres strengthens regional capability with major investment in infrastructure and staff, creating 13 new jobs

Independent tyre and auto service provider NB Tyres has completed a major investment programme worth close to half a million pounds aimed at expanding its North East operations, creating dozens of new jobs and improving service for local motorists and businesses across the region.

The investment, carried out over the past twelve months, has enabled NB Tyres to open two new service centres in Newcastle and Middlesbrough, expand its mobile servicing fleet, and centralise operations at its head office in Durham.

These improvements are designed to reduce waiting times, increase coverage and responsiveness, and ensure drivers receive faster, more efficient service across the region.

NB Tyres is the largest commercial tyre service provider in the North East, now operating five vehicle service centres across the region where customers can have tyres replaced, vehicles serviced, and a wide range of automotive services carried out.

The company employs more than 50 staff, including 13 new permanent roles that have been created across service, management, and operational functions. These roles are designed to improve consistency, training, and communication between customers, service centres, and head office, reinforcing the company’s commitment to high-quality service.

The company has also significantly expanded its mobile servicing capability, adding six new fitting vans and a 12-tonne logistics vehicle capable of delivering up to 200 tyres in bulk directly to business, fleet and agricultural customer sites across the region. Its fleet now totals 26 vehicles operating 24 hours a day, ensuring rapid, flexible service for customers across all sectors, from retail and business to agriculture and aviation.

James Bowman, Director, NB Tyres, said: “Our investment throughout 2025 has been about building the foundations for sustainable growth here in the North East. By expanding our team, fleet and infrastructure, we can operate at a larger scale while maintaining the high service levels our customers expect. Creating new roles locally is also an important part of our commitment to the region.”

Guy Wilks, Director, NB Tyres, added: “Being an independent provider allows us to tailor services to the needs of local businesses and motorists. With our expanded team and fleet, we now have the scale and capability to support every type of customer across the North East. With these new service centres and our centralised operations in Durham, NB Tyres is well positioned to continue growing and contributing to the regional economy in 2026 and beyond.”
