Almost £1,000 has been raised for Halton Haven Hospice after children and team members from Partou Willowdene Nursery and Pre-school in Widnes took part in an Elf Run.
Since 1981, the hospice has been providing specialist palliative care to local residents living with terminal conditions.
The support focuses on helping patients physically, psychologically and emotionally to enable them to continue living the lives they want to live for as long as possible.
The Elf Run was one of several fundraising ventures organised by the nursery throughout the year to assist the hospice’s work.
Hayley McCue, Partou Willowdene Nursery Manager, said: “We raised a total of £947 with 42 children and 13 team members taking part.
“We are overwhelmed with the families’ generous donations and cannot thank everyone enough for their efforts.
“Although the weather was not on our side, the team worked hard to make it an enjoyable experience for the children.
“Our babies enjoyed taking along their Christmas bells, our toddlers sang beautifully, and our preschools worked vigilantly to track down and catch the elf.
“We were more than happy to help such a wonderful cause.”

Located close to Widnes station, Partou Willowdene provides first-class childcare for families in Farnworth, Appleton, Lunts Heath and surrounding areas.
