Stockholm, Sweden - November 14, 2025

Controla, a Swedish startup automating cybersecurity for small and mid-sized businesses, has launched a free cyber risk analysis tool that shows top risks and likely breach cost in under 20 seconds.

By entering a company website, users receive:

  • A risk score from 0 to 100

  • An estimated breach cost based on company size and industry

  • A list of the most relevant risks for their business

The results are generated from public data and real attack history from companies with similar profiles. No login or technical setup is required.

“Most SMBs have no idea what a cyberattack would actually cost them,” says Agnes Onne, CEO of Controla. “We wanted to show how clear the difference is between the cost of an attack and the cost of prevention. The goal is simple: make cyber risk understandable and actionable.”

The free analysis runs thousands of attack simulations using Monte Carlo simulation to estimate the probability and financial impact of different attack types, from phishing to ransomware. It also shows where key defenses, such as multi-factor authentication and patching, stop the attack chain.

Making cybersecurity measurable

“For many companies, risk workshops often produce spreadsheets of guesses,” says Niklas Volcz, CPO of Controla. “We map the attack paths and simulate them at scale, replacing guesswork with defensible numbers and a clear order of what to fix first.”

Controla’s free Cyber Risk Analysis is completely free of charge and takes less than 20 seconds to complete. It’s available at https://app.controla.ai/risk-analysis/public?freeRiskAnalysis=true.
