AbbyStrong Fights NPC, a Richmond-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by the family of 10-year-old Abigail “Abby” Alvey, is teaming up with Kendra Scott at Short Pump Town Center for a community giveback event on Friday, November 15, from 3–5 PM.
Shoppers can support children with childhood dementia by purchasing jewelry in-store or online, with 20% of all sales donated to AbbyStrong Fights NPC. The nonprofit was started by Abby’s parents, Melissa and Garland Alvey, after their daughter was diagnosed with Niemann-Pick Disease Type C (NPC) — a rare, fatal, neurodegenerative disorder that affects fewer than 500 people worldwide.
The funds raised will support family assistance programs, awareness campaigns, and advocacy for children with progressive neurological diseases in Virginia and across the U.S.
