Apollo Building Contractors, tasked with constructing a new Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) unit at Yeovil Hospital, required a dependable temporary power solution to support the MRI coolers during a three-month period while the main electrical infrastructure was being installed. The Flybrid system, which stores energy mechanically in a rapidly spinning flywheel, is known for its ability to smooth out power fluctuations and deliver high bursts of energy when required. This configuration ensured that the MRI unit received uninterrupted power, eliminating the need for oversized generators and enhancing overall efficiency during the construction work.
