WeRoad, the adventure travel brand redefining group adventures for millennials, is turning the season of jingle bells into a season of chuckles with a witty new out-of-home (OOH) campaign. Running from 11th to 29th December 2024, the campaign features three humourous 48-sheet billboards located in Shoreditch and Clapham, London, and Piccadilly, Manchester.

Designed to bring a smile to frazzled holiday-goers, the campaign cheekily highlights the universal Christmas struggles we all face—from the chaos of hosting Christmas dinner to endless family engagements. Each billboard taps into unspoken truths with WeRoad’s signature tongue-in-cheek humour, reminding us why a “real holiday” might be just what the season calls for.

The three billboard themes include:

  • “Christmas Checklist”: A hilarious take on the endless to-dos we all face before 25th December.
  • “Typical Christmas Day”: Showcasing the amusing reality of Christmas dinner dynamics.
  • “The Twelve Days of Christmas”: A playful nod to the timeless holiday carol, packed with modern-day twists.

Adding to the festivities, WeRoad will stage a unique activation on 12th December in Shoreditch. Travel Coordinators from the WeRoad team will stand in front of the “Christmas Checklist” billboard, handing out small, themed gifts to pedestrians. Each gift ties directly to points from the checklist, ensuring an extra dose of humour and delight for passersby.

Justyna Chlopecka, UK Marketing Manager at WeRoad, shared his excitement about the campaign:
“At WeRoad, we’re all about turning relatable moments into something memorable. Christmas is a time of joy, but let’s be honest—it’s also a time of chaos! Our billboards poke fun at that chaos and remind people that the best way to recover from the holidays is with a ‘real holiday’—one that involves adventure, new connections, and a change of scenery.”

This playful campaign continues WeRoad’s tradition of disruptive and witty marketing, appealing to young explorers who crave authentic travel experiences. The creative was developed and executed by WeRoad’s in-house team in collaboration with creative agency DUDE.
