IES accelerates growth with four new senior hires

Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES), the Glasgow-based built environment climate tech firm has made four senior appointments as it expands its team to meet increasing demand for services.

The new hires will play a key role in helping the business, which achieved 134% growth last year, speed up its mission to decarbonise the built environment on a global scale. It aims to do so through its suite of tools, known as the Intelligent Communities Lifecycle, which facilitate the planning, design and operation of energy efficient and sustainable cities, communities and buildings.

Sam Cummings has been appointed as an Associate Director and the Head of Product. He joins the team to take charge of IES’s ICL Digital Twin product suite and scale it into the market. Sam has an extensive background in product development and within the wider architecture, engineering and construction industry, and was previously product manager for TEKLA structures.

Yann Grynberg joins the business as Head of ICL Partnerships. Yann brings with him a wealth of experience in energy efficiency and decarbonisation, and was previously a board member of the Singapore Green Building Council.

In his former role at the Energy Research Institute at NTU in Singapore, Yann headed up the industries, governments and universities partnerships for Digital Buildings Technologies & Decarbonisation Strategy. Based in Singapore, Yann’s new role will enable him to identify new market segments, applications and business models, and develop IES with partners in the Asia region and globally. He will develop and lead a team of professionals to deploy ICL solutions on a worldwide scale.

Richard Fletcher has been appointed as Global Sales Director, having previously been Business Area Director for Trimble Buildings. Richard has 25 years of experience working within the construction and construction software industries, and for more than 20 of these he has been involved with the digital transformation of the built environment.

Leveraging this wealth of previous experience, Richard’s prime focus within IES is to help customers adopt the business’s Digital Twin technology, which will enable them to achieve their sustainability goals.

IES has also appointed a new Business Development Manager, Bojan Andjelkovic. He brings 29 years of experience in building mechanical systems design, energy management, and modelling of buildings.

Bojan will be based in Vancouver, Canada and his new role will entail developing the ICL business in North America and providing market feedback on the software to the marketing and sales team. This will help IES to make improvements and advancements to the ICL products and develop them to better suit the North American market.

Commenting on the new hires, Don McLean, Founder and CEO of IES, said: “Yann, Bojan. Richard, and Sam are great additions to our team, who all join us at a very exciting time for the business as we aspire to accelerate our growth to achieve our mission of decarbonising the built environment globally. All of them will play a key role in helping us to accomplish this task, and bring with them a wealth of experience and expertise to assist in navigating the road to net zero”.
