Work From Here expands nationally with Penta Hotel partnership

Birmingham based organisation Work From Here has taken another step in its mission to transform the world of remote working by announcing an exciting new partnership with the UK properties of international hotel chain Penta.

The pioneering online platform makes it easy for remote workers, freelancers, and anyone who wants to work differently, to access a city-wide directory of venues providing collaborative working spaces.

Since it launched, Work From Here has opened up many of Birmingham’s favourite spaces, including Loki Wine, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and Birmingham City Football Club, to provide exciting workspace opportunities for remote workers. Its simplicity has seen many venues in Birmingham flock to the platform and with this announcement, the number of venues nationally is likely to expand rapidly.

“Birmingham has led the charge for a complete culture change in how we work,” explained Jo Seabright, Founder of Work From Here.“The idea for Work From Here was born out of the pandemic. I wanted to work somewhere different and be assured of expectations upfront, but nothing existed like this, so we set it up! Fast-forward and the need for Work From Here grows, and we’re delighted to be expanding the concept nationwide.”

Penta Hotels has six hotels in the UK and over 20 across Europe. Susana Balint, Regional Director Sales UK, said: “We’re proud to be the first organisation to help Work From Here expand outside Birmingham. It’s really important to us that all our hotels reflect the neighbourhood and communities they are part of and this exciting partnership will allow us to build even more connections with the people that are local to us.”
It’s easy for people to book a workspace. You can pick bespoke packages tailored to each venue’s offering; for example, you can choose a package to include Wi-Fi, unlimited tea and coffee, and different tailored menu offerings.

Notes to editors

The idea for Work From Here was born out of the pandemic, when founder Jo Seabright was working from home and looking for alternative workspaces, but wanting to be reassured that she would be welcomed, and that expectations around spend and duration of stay would be managed upfront. Jo then started to research and develop Work From Here, a tech platform connecting frustrated home workers with workspaces in hyperlocal venues. The pilot scheme launched in Birmingham and has already attracted venue sign-ups from local independents and large national hospitality brands including Park Regis, Marriot, Penta Hotels and football clubs, all looking to maximise revenue and leverage the Hybrid working trend. Work From Here provides welcoming, creative and inspiring workspaces for home workers, paired with smart technology to support collaboration and wellbeing, whilst providing a vital new market and revenue stream for the struggling hospitality industry. About the founder Jo has over 10 years’ experience in senior marketing roles including five years working as a self-employed management consultant in the travel industry, holding a number of high profile transport marketing roles. Jo has led the marketing and branding launch programmes for a number of UK rail brands and oversees the development and day-to-day operations of digital products driving multi-million pounds in annual revenue. She has an entrepreneurial mindset, and is experienced in devising and delivering customer-focussed and data-driven strategies to attract and develop new markets, and drive growth. As well as a passion for success and a can-do attitude, Jo is a recent Aston Business School MBA graduate, passing with distinction, and is Chartered Institute of Marketing qualified. Jo holds two board trustee roles, firstly for Birmingham based charity LoveBrum, and for one of business tycoon John Caudwell’s charities, Caudwell LymeCo.
