Sheffield indie favourites Milburn will celebrate 20 years of their debut album Well Well Well with a special hometown show at Electric Studios on Saturday 24 October 2026. Released in 2006, Well Well Well introduced the band’s distinctive take on Northern indie rock and included fan favourites such as “Send in the Boys”, “Cheshire Cat Smile” and “What You Could’ve Won”. Two decades on, Milburn will bring the anniversary celebration back to Sheffield for a 1,050-capacity show at the Leadmill Road venue.
Formed in Sheffield in 2001 by Joe Carnall, Louis Carnall, Tom Rowley and Joe Green, Milburn emerged as teenagers from the same close-knit scene that helped put the city at the centre of British guitar music in the mid-2000s. The band built its following in grassroots rooms including The Boardwalk and The Leadmill before signing to Mercury Records, with Well Well Well capturing the wit, energy and sharp observation that became their hallmark. After stepping away in 2008, Milburn reunited in 2016 for a hugely in-demand run of hometown shows marking the album’s tenth anniversary, before returning with the album Time in 2017. Joe Carnall has continued that Sheffield story through Good Cop Bad Cop, a run of intimate 2026 Well Well Well anniversary performances and his autobiographical musical How Could I Forget?, which was developed with Sheffield Theatres following sold-out debut performances.
The Electric Studios date now brings Milburn’s 20th-anniversary celebration back to the city where it began.
Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Tuesday 8 September. Fans who have purchased, or purchase, the album on vinyl or as part of a vinyl bundle through the Milburn store will receive priority access from 9am. Mailing-list and SMS presale access begins at 9.30am. Doors open at 6.30pm. The event is for ages 14 and over, with under-16s required to attend with an adult.
