EDITORIAL INSIGHT: Context, industry insight and market perspectives of this news story

Charity initiatives led by businesses often provide employees with opportunities to engage in causes beyond their daily work, while also supporting organisations tackling global challenges. Ecommpay’s Children’s Day art project is a typical example of a company-driven fundraising effort that channels internal creativity into practical support for a charity working on children’s education worldwide.

While the sums raised are relatively modest, such campaigns can help foster a sense of community within the business and offer employees a direct way to contribute to charitable work. For Street Child, which operates in regions where access to education remains a critical issue, even small-scale contributions from corporate partners can support ongoing programmes and raise awareness among new audiences.

Employee and family artwork transformed into charity merchandise to support children’s education worldwide

Ecommpay, the global inclusive payments platform, launched a Children’s Day initiative to raise funds for Street Child, a charity dedicated to giving children around the world access to education and a better start in life.

To mark Children’s Day on 1st June 2026, Ecommpay invited employees and their children to submit original hand-drawn artwork which would then be turned into merchandise for sale to employees. Submissions ranged from children’s drawings and personal art experiments to notebook sketches and casual meeting doodles. There was just one condition: no AI-generated artwork was accepted.

The submitted artwork was then brought to life as a special charity merchandise collection, sold internally to Ecommpay employees. In total, the initiative produced:

  • 25 T-shirts
  • 15 mugs
  • 9 magnets
  • A wide range of postcards

Each item’s price combined two elements: the cost of production and a charitable contribution. Roughly half of every purchase covered manufacturing, while the other half went directly to supporting Street Child’s work. In total €1,625 was raised.

“The Street Child Children’s Art Day was met with incredible enthusiasm right across the business,” said Miranda McLean, Chief Marketing Officer, Ecommpay. “This is another example of how we are bringing our ‘Ecommpay for Good’ mission to life – making sure the digital economy works better for everyone. Reflecting who we are as a company – creative, generous and community-minded – our colleagues brought forward their artistic skills to support a cause that deeply resonates with us. We are incredibly proud to support Street Child’s vital work and to help ensure more children can continue their education.”

By turning colleagues’ and children’s creativity into a collection of unique, wearable and everyday items, the campaign gave employees a meaningful way to support Street Child. The initiative was met with enthusiasm across the company.

Aziza Nurmatova, Senior Merchant Onboarding Officer, shared: “This has been one of Ecommpay’s best initiatives lately. Big thanks to everyone who organised and made it happen!”

Alena Golopiatova, reflecting on the difficulty of choosing which artwork to buy, said: “It was honestly so hard to choose between all the pictures – each one is absolutely adorable! Such a wonderful way to support a great cause while wearing something with such great content on it.”

Sasha MacDonald, Senior Fundraising and Supporter Engagement Officer from Street Child added: “This initiative by Ecommpay was fantastic in combining fundraising with artistic talent. We are incredibly grateful to the Ecommpay and its employees for continuing to support our efforts to make a real difference to children’s education.”

Street Child works in some of the world’s most challenging environments, helping children access education, supporting families, rebuilding schools after crises, and creating opportunities for young people to learn and grow. Since its founding, the organisation has helped millions of children across Africa, Asia, Europe and other regions, with a mission to build long-term opportunities for children and communities.
