EDITORIAL INSIGHT: Context, industry insight and market perspectives of this news story

Bovis Homes’ support for Weston Park’s summer programme is a modest but relevant example of how housebuilders are using local partnerships to build community presence around new developments.

For Bovis Homes, which is selling new homes at The Rambles in Telford, the tie-up gives the company a visible connection to family life in the wider Shropshire and Staffordshire area. For Weston Park, it adds commercial backing to anniversary-year activity aimed at keeping the estate relevant to families during the school holidays.

The announcement is most significant for local audiences, particularly families and community stakeholders, rather than the wider housing market. It reflects a practical alignment between a regional visitor attraction seeking summer footfall and a developer keen to associate its brand with established local places.

Press Release

Weston Park has kickstarted its ‘Forty Days of Play’ summer programme with support from leading UK housebuilder Bovis Homes.

The stately home on the Shropshire/Staffordshire border will deliver six weeks of unforgettable family adventures across the historic estate with support from Bovis Homes as its official event partner.

Running throughout the summer holidays, the Forty Days of Play programme will form part of the Weston Park Foundation’s 40th anniversary celebrations, with the 1000-acre site being transformed into giant outdoor playground.

Marking the start of the fun-packed programme, which will include hands-on-crafts, outdoor games, woodland adventures, weekly storytelling sessions and creative workshops, is the arrival of an exclusive interactive Elmer and Friends Hide and Seek Adventure Trail – an augmented reality trail for children (and grown ups!).

The carefully designed summer programme aims to encourage children and families to get outdoors, explore nature and create lasting memories.

Rebecca Alexander, Head of Estates and Operations at Weston Park, said the partnership with Bovis Homes reflected a shared commitment to support families, encourage active lifestyles and create opportunities for children to learn through play.

She said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Bovis Homes as our partner for Forty Days of Play. Summer at Weston is all about inspiring children to get outside, discover new experiences and spend quality time together as a family.

“Working with Bovis Homes enables us to enhance the programme and ensure even more families can enjoy everything Weston Park has to offer this summer.”

As one of the UK’s leading housebuilders, Bovis Homes, which is currently building brand new 2, 3 and 4-bedroom homes at ‘The Rambles’ in Telford, place family life and thriving communities at the heart of its developments, making the partnership with Weston a natural fit.

Joanne Bradbury, Sales and Marketing Director at Bovis Homes, said:

“We are proud to be partnering with Weston Park on Forty Days of Play. Creating places where families can thrive extends beyond building homes – it’s about supporting the communities around us and encouraging children to enjoy healthy, active lifestyles. We’re delighted to be helping create memorable experiences for families visiting Weston Park this summer.”

As part of the Forty Days of Play activities, the foundation will also host a bank holiday Weston at 40 Summer Celebration on August 30 and 31.

The Forty Days of Play programme runs throughout the summer holidays and is included with standard Park and Gardens admission unless otherwise stated.

Families can also explore Weston Park’s beautiful parkland, adventure playground, miniature railway and family-friendly trails.
