Orbit Spaces has opened a major new floor at its District location on 55 King Street in central Manchester. Bringing coworking, meeting rooms and a flexible event space together in one place, the expansion responds to growing demand from businesses across the city for premium, flexible workspace in a sought-after central address.
District first opened as a single meeting room on King Street. As demand from Manchester businesses grew, and space became hard to come by at peak times, Orbit took the decision to expand the whole location into its most comprehensive offer yet. The new floor introduces a coworking hub, two fully fitted meeting rooms and an adaptable event space, opening up far more ways for members and visitors to work, meet and host.
At the heart of the floor is a coworking hub for up to 20 people, complete with private call booths, soft seating and free refreshments, including a high-quality coffee machine. Two meeting rooms cater for groups of up to 12 and up to 7, each with full AV and large screens for presentations and video conferencing. The event space flows into the wider hub and hosts between 20 and 30 guests for networking, briefings and informal gatherings.
The expansion speaks to a wider shift in working habits. Businesses increasingly value flexibility, particularly when it sits within a professionally managed, design-led setting. Rather than taking on the upkeep of their own premises, many now prefer multi-use spaces where the details are handled for them, leaving teams free to focus on collaboration and getting work done.
