Good Life Property Consulting, a UK-based buyer advisory firm, has highlighted a more data-led approach among Taiwan-based buyers considering UK residential property, as cross-border wealth planning becomes increasingly mainstream.
Recent research by CTBC Bank and Boston Consulting Group found that 74% of Taiwan’s high-net-worth clients already hold overseas assets, while a further 14% plan to begin overseas allocation. Among ultra-high-net-worth families, the proportion holding overseas assets rises to 86%.
The same report projects Taiwan’s total personal wealth to reach around NT$279 trillion by 2029, reflecting continued growth in private wealth and long-term international diversification.
Good Life Property Consulting says this trend is changing how overseas buyers approach UK property. Rather than focusing only on price growth, many clients are now asking more detailed questions about rental demand, ownership structure, service charges, tax considerations, resale prospects and long-term holding costs.
Taiwan’s domestic property market provides further context. Global Property Guide data shows Taiwan’s average gross residential rental yield stood at around 2.20% in Q4 2025, with Taipei among the lowest-yielding major residential markets globally.
“Taiwan buyers are becoming more cautious and more analytical,” said Wanjing Duan, Founder of Good Life Property Consulting. “They want to understand not only what to buy, but whether the numbers, location, structure and long-term plan make sense.”
UK market conditions also require careful assessment. According to the Office for National Statistics, average UK private rents rose 3.4% in the 12 months to March 2026, while London house prices fell 3.3% in the 12 months to February 2026, showing a more mixed and location-specific market.
Good Life Property Consulting supports overseas buyers with area analysis, property sourcing, viewing coordination, transaction support and communication between estate agents, solicitors, surveyors, mortgage advisers and developers.
The company recently hosted a UK property seminar in Taipei covering property inspections, ownership structures, tax considerations and risk management, reflecting growing demand for education-led buyer guidance.
