The Black Mountain Center for the Arts (BMCA) is proud to announce its first-ever collaboration with the Multiverse Theatre Collective to present Terrence McNally’s acclaimed play, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune. Running from May 8 through May 17, 2026, this production marks a mature and emotionally resonant addition to the Center’s theatrical season.
Located in the heart of the Swannanoa Valley, BMCA continues its mission of “bringing the arts to the people and people to the arts” by introducing this deeply human exploration of connection. The play follows the “sometimes touching, sometimes hilarious” encounter between Frankie, a waitress, and Johnny, a short-order cook, as they navigate the shift from a one-night stand to the vulnerability of a relationship.
“Our goal is to provide exceptional and diverse theatrical productions that stimulate both the audience and the artists,” said the BMCA Theatre department. “Collaborating with Multiverse Theatre Collective allows us to bring a high level of professional artistry to our community hub while exploring the raw, grounded emotions that make us human.”
