West Midlands, UK —Industry stalwarts in Metal Pressings and Wire-forming, Brookvale Manufacturing Co. Limited is proud to mark 30 years since its initial participation in the regionally significant Accelerate Programme, a pioneering initiative that helped shape a generation of high-performing automotive suppliers across the West Midlands.
Originally launched in 1996, the Accelerate Programme gained real momentum as it pushed forward through the millennium years, supporting manufacturers at a time of rapid globalisation and increasing competitive pressure on the UK automotive supply chain.
Brookvale’s involvement began in the late 1990s in collaboration with Denso Manufacturing UK Ltd., supplying Wire forming and Metal Pressings components and representing a step-change in manufacturing capability. At the time, Brookvale partnered with Denso to develop a new actuator rod for climate control systems—meeting the exacting standards of global automotive OEM supply.
Through the Accelerate Programme, Brookvale implemented new production processes, rebuilt key machinery, and invested in workforce development. The result was a demonstrable uplift in product quality, process capability, and organisational confidence—positioning the company firmly within the upper tier of UK automotive suppliers.
“The Accelerate Programme has enabled us to develop and introduce a new process which allowed us to meet a customer-specific requirement to world class standards within a limited timeframe.” — J.S. Tidball, Managing Director at the time
The programme—supported by regional development funding and delivered through the Birmingham Centre for Manufacturing—went on to assist more than 200 West Midlands companies before concluding around 2010.
A Business That Continues to Evolve
In 2022, Brookvale entered a new chapter when it was acquired by Metal Assemblies Ltd under the leadership of Iain Collis. Since the acquisition, the business has continued to build on its strong foundations—investing in capability, strengthening customer relationships, and reinforcing its position within the UK manufacturing landscape.
“The Accelerate Programme was a defining moment in Brookvale’s history. It laid the groundwork for the disciplined, quality-driven approach we still operate today. Thirty years on, that legacy is still visible across our processes, our people, and our customer relationships. Since joining Metal Assemblies, we’ve built on that platform and continue to go from strength to strength.” — Stuart Maclean, General Manager
A Legacy of Capability and Collaboration
Thirty years on, Brookvale reflects with pride on its role within a programme that not only elevated its own performance, but also contributed to a broader transformation of manufacturing standards across the region.
