Returning for its ninth edition, 100% Optical has announced that visitor registration is live and entries for its renowned Love Eyewear Awards are now open.

Championed by all the industry’s leading organisations, including AOP, ABDO, OSA and AIO, 100% Optical 2023 will return to its home at ExCeL in London from 25th to 27th February, featuring over 200 exhibitors including Nikon, Mokki, Vava Eyewear, Strucktur Eyewear, Cylite Optics, Clearmed, Heidelberg Engineering, Vision, Marcolin, TopCon, Inspecs and more.

Organisers have announced that entries for the increasingly popular Love Eyewear Awards will open earlier this year, on Monday 12th September, and close Monday 28th November, allowing more time for submissions. The awards ceremony itself will take place during 100% Optical 2023, on Saturday 25th February.

There are 12 categories for the third annual celebration of eyewear designers, manufacturers and retailers, including Sustainable Frame of the Year, Eyewear retailer of the Year and New Designer 2023; keep your eyes peeled for the nominees which will be unveiled on Monday 16th January 2023.

With a strong emphasis on independents showcasing thousands of products at the show, 100% Optical will also feature a host of exciting seminars and a schedule of CPD sessions with accredited education.

More than 10,000 optical professionals from around the globe will gather for the three-day celebration of optics for key show features which include:

  • Main Stage – world class CPD programme curated by the AOP across three days
  • Future Practice Hub – four rooms dedicated to diagnostics, dispensing and clinical skills
  • Dispensing Workshop – a space for visitors to experience making and fitting frames first-hand
  • Studio – With a bigger focus on independent eyewear planned for the 2023 show, 100% Optical will curate a collection of the most inspirational brands from across the globe.
  • Optical academy – sponsored by SpaMedica, provides CPD accredited education targeted at the wider practice, from Optical Assistants to Practice Managers
  • Live Catwalk shows – showcasing the latest trends provided by exhibitors and their amazing brands three times a day

Nathan Garnett, 100% Optical show director, said: “The global eyewear market was worth an estimated £106.1 billion in 2021 and with this number growing to a predicted £111.4 billion for this year, the future of optics is looking bright. We can’t wait to hear all about it and see the latest trends, designs and innovations that our industry has to offer during the 100% showcase in February.

“Following the pandemic we hosted our strongest show to date in April and with over 80% of our exhibitor slots already taken we’re on track for another hugely successful show in 2023. This year, we also have some exciting new additions from the contact lens market with further announcements to follow.”
