VerifyMy appoints Head of Regulatory and Public Affairs to Spearhead Online Safety Legislative and Policy Developments

VerifyMy has appointed Lina Ghazal, ex-Meta public affairs expert, into newly created role. 

London UK, 29th January 2024  – VerifyMy, the online safety technology leader, has today announced the appointment of Lina Ghazal as Head of Regulatory and Public Affairs. In this newly created role, Ghazal will lead the company’s policy strategy, positioning VerifyMy as a driving force for legislative change, effective implementation and industry collaboration. Ghazal’s expertise will help VerifyMy on their mission to provide frictionless, trustworthy solutions for online platforms to maintain their integrity, protect their reputation and safeguard users online.

With more than a decade of public affairs experience, Ghazal has worked with the UK’s communications regulator, Ofcom, and most recently social media giant Meta, where she served as a senior member of the public policy team. Her extensive background places her at the forefront of decision-making when it comes to online safety policy.

During a period of considerable growth and expansion for VerifyMy, Ghazal’s appointment marks an important addition to the business. She will consult on product development, aligning opportunities with the implications of new regulations, and build initiatives to raise awareness on the benefits of VerifyMy’s cutting-edge solutions. Additionally, Ghazal will foster relationships within civil society, engaging with MPs, and working in close collaboration with regulators and government officials to support the development of effective protection while encouraging innovation.
