Senior vet manager’s happy tears after anniversary cheers

A senior manager at a Cambridgeshire vet practice cried happy tears as colleagues surprised her with a party to celebrate an incredible two decades years of loyal service.

Lynn Henderson, regional support manager for Village Vet’s six practices across the county, described it as the “best day of my career” after her 20 years of service was so spectacularly marked by colleagues.

Now, she’s vowing to carry on for another 20 years working with “the very best team” in the business.

A grateful Lynn wrote an emotional message to colleagues afterwards, saying: “It was so very special and most definitely the best day I have ever had in my working career!

“I had happy tears and have no idea how I kept it together – it was so overwhelming, I really do feel very loved!

“Thank you so much to everyone for the most amazing 20 years! I never planned to stay with one company this long and the reasons I have are because the values of Village Vet and Linnaeus are very much aligned with my own personal values, and I work with the very best team.

“I am the lucky one to be a part of this team where everyone wants to work together to achieve the best outcome possible for all involved. It also helps to work with people I really like and respect.

“Thanks to everyone for being part of this 20-year journey. I am still very excited about our future here at Village Vet in Cambridgeshire and am hoping to make another 20 years!”

Lynn began her service as head nurse at Village Vet in Ealing, London, before transitioning to a central support management role as an inter-practice co-ordinator.

She relocated to Cambridge and has subsequently earned a glowing reputation for her hard work, diligence and leadership.

Village Vet clinical director Rebecca Gilbert said: “Lynn is a legend. She’s truly hardworking, skilled and capable and has held the group of practices together successfully for many years.

“I have been in my role as clinical director for just over a month and can already see what an asset she is, and what an important individual she is for Village Vet and for Linnaeus.

“She is efficient and super responsive and always works hard to cover the needs of the team.”

Lynn was honoured with a surprise afternoon tea party at the practice and presented with a gift voucher, flowers and a special cake to mark her two decades of service.

Village Vet has six practices in Cambridgeshire, in Cottenham, Longstanton, Meldreth, Milton, Royston and Whittlesford.
