As part of three-year deal with class-leading EAM specialist, Peacock Engineering
Egis Road and Tunnel Operations (ERTO) has partnered with class-leading Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) specialist, Peacock Engineering Ltd, as the road infrastructure operator moves its asset management systems for the Dublin and Jack-Lynch Tunnels to the cloud.
ERTO is part of the leading global consulting, construction engineering and operating company, EGIS, and is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Dublin and Jack Lynch Tunnels in the Republic of Ireland. This includes the management of toll collection, traffic management, tunnel safety management, emergency and contingency planning, equipment and infrastructure inspection and maintenance systems.
The Dublin and Jack-Lynch tunnels are an essential part of Ireland’s National Highway infrastructure. The Dublin tunnel, a 4.85 km long twin bore dual carriageway, that caters for an estimated 65 million vehicle journeys a year, provides routes from Dublin Port to the M50 motorway helping to reduce traffic flow through the city. While the 1.8 km Jack-Lynch tunnel, which services Cork, carries on average 25 million journeys annually. Essential assets in the tunnels include critical systems for barriers and traffic flow, toll management, safety management, and air quality and emissions regulation.
ERTO’s partnership with Peacock Engineering will see the infrastructure and operations management company move its existing enterprise asset management solution, IBM Maximo®, to a new cloud-based version of the cutting-edge software, IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS). MAS offers a single platform for intelligent asset management, monitoring, maintenance, computer vision, safety and reliability, enabling ERTO to have a 360-degree, real time view of its asset base, across multiple sites at the same time.
IBM Maximo® and IBM MAS are used by logistics, utilities and facilities management businesses around the world. The move to the cloud will enable increased asset uptime and improved first-time-fix rates and operational efficiencies, digitised work orders and the ability to store data on and offline. The cloud-based system will also help to negate out-dated paper-based processes, helping to remove duplication and reduce human error.
ERTO will be augmenting its MAS upgrade with the latest generation of Peacock Engineering’s Fingertip mobile solution helping to improve infield and onsite visibility. The solution enables teams to benefit from improved on the job, real-time data capture, flexible work processes and faster work progression.
