M-Cube launches immersive visual and audio installation in Florence train station

Leading In-Store Digital Engagement solutions company, M-Cube, has unveiled its state-of-the-art digital signage installation in Florence, Italy.

Located at Florence Santa Maria Novella train station, the 25 metre-long, 30 million pixel installation has 400 modules installed on a total surface of 200 square metres. The installation gives life to an immersive experience with 3D art and audiovisuals.

To date, the footfall of the installation has amounted to over a million visitors. Along with being an attraction to tourists and locals, this installation also provides the opportunity for advertising. With a footfall of 160,000 passengers per day, Florence station is one of the busiest train stations in Italy.

Leonardo Comelli, Italy Business Director at M-Cube, commented: “With evolving consumer expectations, digital experiences are growing in importance to assist brands in enhancing their offering. The integration of the digital and physical world is crucial in enhancing and unifying the overall customer experience. I would like to express gratitude to Real Media for collaborating with us on this project. The immersive tunnel we have developed exemplifies the power of digital tools in bringing emotions to life and creating impactful representations.”

This transformation comes as a new station is to be built in Florence as part of Italy’s new high-speed rail network running from Milan to Naples and from Turin to Venice. The system includes over 1,000 km of railway line and four new stations in Rome, Turin, Naples and Florence. Digital signage could be a big part of this new high-speed rail network.
