GLUTEN FREE FUN WITH ZENB

ZENB is on a mission to make plant-based the norm and not the exception. By using the whole plant in their products, they extract as much goodness as possible from it, without sacrificing on taste and texture.

Their award-winning hero product is their amazing pasta range made from 100% yellow peas and nothing else. It’s high in protein, high in fibre and, like everything in their range, completely gluten-free.

According to Coeliac UK, an estimated 1% of the UK population has coeliac disease and up to 6% have gluten intolerance. This means that it is very likely we all have friends or family members who need to be careful about their diets. Whether you are looking for somewhere to celebrate a special occasion or just because no one can face cooking, there are a myriad of options out there for people who need to avoid gluten.

Now ZENB is determined to put the fun back into gluten-free eating. As well as sharing incredibly delicious recipes from renowned chefs, they have highlighted a treasure trove of top-notch eateries tailored for all gluten-free needs. From vibrant London restaurants to scenic spots across the nation, they’ve scoured the country for the best GF experiences.

This culinary adventure across the UK means you don’t miss this chance to indulge in a feast of flavours and taste buds are in for an unforgettable ride!

Restaurants in this indispensable collection include Niche in East London, a casual fine dining destination located just a stone’s throw from Sadler’s Wells. Niche has a bit of a reputation in the gluten-free world, as it was the first totally GF restaurant in London and the first to receive accreditation from Coeliac UK. Their focus is on local suppliers and seasonal produce, and you really wouldn’t know there wasn’t a scintilla of gluten in any of their dishes! Insiders’ tip: founder Mark has coeliac disease himself, so you can rest assured you’re in good hands.

Notes to editors

ZENB was founded by the Japan-based Mizkan Group over two centuries ago. The company began by making vinegar using “sake lees”, the by-product of brewing sake which was normally thrown away. The sweetness and flavour of the Mizkan vinegar paired deliciously with sushi, as popular then as it is now, and many restaurants started using it. Throughout its history, Mizkan has kept the philosophy of environmental consciousness at the centre of its core values while offering tasty and healthy choices. To further pursue its philosophy, and inspired by its food waste history, Mizkan launched ZENB in the US and Japan in 2019, and in the UK in 2020. ZENB’s hero product is its multi award-winning Yellow Pea Pasta. The UK’s first pasta to be made entirely from this small but powerful legume, it has become a key ingredient of many a diet since launching back in 2021.
