Business advisor tells how businesses can use the King’s Coronation to increase sales

A BUSINESS advisor is sharing his top tips on how businesses can utilise the King’s coronation to generate more sales.

The Bank Holiday weekend surrounding the coronation of King Charles III and Camilla is set to see millions of people celebrating, hitting their local pubs and taking to supermarkets to grab lots of scones and quiches ahead of the many street parties taking place.

But business advisor Colin Bielckus says that it’s not just grocery stores and pubs and restaurants that can expect to see an increase in sales over the coronation weekend.

He says that, with a few tweaks in their marketing strategy, businesses from lots of different industries can cash in from the celebrations and up their sales.

He said: ‘This is set to be a huge historical event that we’re not likely to see for again for a long time, so it’s understandable that people are planning big celebrations and get-togethers. It makes sense that businesses should take advantage of this in order to increase sales and revenue.

‘The most obvious one is coronation-themed merchandise, which is great for product-based businesses. This can be things like mugs, plates, t-shirts – basically antyhing you can get a Union Jack on.

‘Thinking outside of the box can help you bring in some more cash, too. Social media is going to be brimming with coronation content, so can you jump on the trends and put your own spin on the coverage? This could help you get more eyes on your brand and potentially bring more customers in in the long run.’

He is also encouraging businesses to look into running their own events, such as themed brunches or afternoon teas.

Colin said: ‘Brunch is a huge buzzword at the moment, but for a good reason as they are hugely popular, particularly among a younger generation. This generation is slightly more blasé about the coronation than other generations, so it could be a good opportunity to tap into this market by using the coronation in a slightly different way. Afternoon tea uses the same concept – a royal family-themed dining event – but targets a slightly different audience. If you can tap into both of these audiences, you’re onto a winner.’

Colin works with companies, offering advice on how to become more profitable.
