Award winning video agency spread Christmas magic for clients

Award winning video and animation company Stone’s Throw Media are spreading the Christmas magic for clients wanting to raise their profile over the festive period.

Wolverhampton-based Stone’s Throw Media have produced an animation for Birmingham Hospice and a video for forklift manufacturer Briggs equipment.

Stone’s Throw created a Christmas animation for Birmingham Hospice which raises the awareness of why donations are desperately needed over the festive period to ensure its services can continue.

The animation, entitled ‘George’s Story’ highlights some of the ways Birmingham Hospice supports local people living with a terminal diagnosis receive the warmth and care they desperately need this Christmas.

Birmingham Hospice communications and marketing officer Charlotte Bentley commented: “We have been overwhelmed by the response to our animation. We wanted to bring to light the struggles faced by charities this festive season.

“We rely on fundraised income to continue running our expert services and with the cost-of-living crisis it is becoming increasingly hard to raise the £5.5 million we need each year.

“Thanks so much to the Stone’s Throw Media team who understood the message we wanted to deliver. They produced an emotional and heartwarming animation that has already been viewed by thousands on social media and has had a great response from staff members too.”

In a bid to rival the much-anticipated annual Christmas adverts, Cannock based Briggs Equipment approached Stone’s Throw Media to produce a Christmas video to highlight the importance of their engineers who work tirelessly throughout the year.

The Tale of the Forgotten Bear follows the magical journey of a little teddy bear, left behind by Santa and his elves. Briggs engineers come to the rescue and save Christmas for a little boy, spreading the message ‘Briggs keeps Christmas moving’.

Stone’s Throw Media co-founder Matt Weston said: “It has been great to work with Birmingham Hospice and Briggs to bring their Christmas videos to life. Two very different organisations but both spreading a message of kindness and appreciation this Christmas.”

Briggs Equipment communications specialist Paige Muller commented: “We have a long standing relationship with Stone’s Throw Media and knew they would deliver a fantastic video to spread a bit of Christmas cheer.

“We have already had a fantastic response to the video on social media with over 20,000 reactions, comments and shares.”

Stone’s Throw Media was launched in 2011 by founders Mike Chinn and Matt Weston after they met on a University of Wolverhampton media course. The founders bill Stone’s Throw Media as being for clients “looking to grow” through video, animation and livestreaming events, with staffing growing to ten this year as revenues and profits grew to new highs.

Based at Wolverhampton Science Park, Stone’s Throw, whose clients include leading brands JLR, Briggs, Greene King and the City of Wolverhampton College, were named as small business of the year at the 2022 Express & Star Apprenticeship Awards.
