Alcedo Care Group appoints Tom Wilkes in Chester

Tom Wilkes has been appointed registered manager of Alcedo Care Group’s Chester office, located on Crane Street, just outside of the city centre.

In his new role, Tom will take responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the Chester branch, leading the dedicated 50-strong team to deliver the top-rated homecare provider’s exceptional portfolio of personal care, support, companionship and nursing services to service users in the local area.

At the same time, he will continue to grow the Chester office, working with local authorities, stakeholders and families to communicate Alcedo’s services to those wishing to remain independent in their own homes, while ensuring all care is delivered competently and complies with Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Government guidelines.

Well qualified for his new role, Tom has a wealth of experience in the care sector, previously working for Next Stage where he was the registered manager for Cheshire and responsible for the services delivered between Sandbach and Birkenhead supporting clients with autism and mental health needs.

He has also focussed on continued professional development, achieving relevant professional qualifications including Level 3 Mental Health First Aider and Level 3 Health & Social Care, working towards Level 5.

Commenting on his appointment, Tom said:  “I have watched the solid growth of Alcedo Care over recent years and have always been attracted to the company’s reputation, family values and care ethic.  I aim to continue to provide the best care in Chester and an engaging and supportive working environment for my team.  We will continue to expand and are already looking to introduce and develop our complex care, live-in care and children’s complex care services.”

Age 38, Tom is engaged to Sarah who also works for Alcedo Care Group and they have a two-year-old daughter.  Born in St Asaph, North Wales, he grew up in Holywell and has lived in Crewe for 20 years.

Recently rated one of the Top 20 home care groups for the third year running, Alcedo Care offers Domiciliary Care Services, Live-in Care, Nurse-Led Complex Care Services, Supported Living and Children’s Services and has fast gained an enviable reputation as the home care provider of choice in the North West thanks to its superb 1,000-strong team of highly skilled and compassionate carers who make a tangible difference to the quality of life of the company’s home care clients.

Run by passionate husband and wife team, Andy and Jo Boardman, and with the support of their fantastic management team, the company is expanding at pace and aims to double in size over the next 12 months with the recruitment of more than 1,000 new carers.
