£31,000 joint funding donated to help over 700 young people in Aylesbury

Travis Perkins Managed Services (TPMS) and Fairhive Homes have teamed up to provide much-needed funds to help support Youth Concern’s vital work in Aylesbury. A £31,000 fund has been awarded to Youth Concern, an independent charity supporting some of Aylesbury Vale’s most vulnerable 13-25-year-olds in Buckinghamshire. The funding will help towards the costs of running their Drop-in Centre which is accessed by an average 125 young people every month. The fund was made available from TPMS to Fairhive for good causes. Fairhive has collaborated with Youth Concern in various capacities over the past few years, and assisting them in securing funding has been an invaluable contribution.

Much of Youth Concern’s work is preventative in nature, focusing on equipping young people with essential life skills, promoting mental and physical well-being, and facilitating engagement with education, training, and employment opportunities. By breaking the cycles of poverty and deprivation, the organisation strives to foster social progress and create a more inclusive community for all. A lot of this fantastic work takes place at Youth Concern’s Drop-in Centre, the heart of their operation which provides a safe space for 700+ young people five days and three evenings a week. The centre is run by a fantastic team of experienced team youth workers and volunteers, overseen by the Project Manager who plans ahead, organises programmes and activities, manages safeguarding issues and ensures Youth Concern continues to make a real impact on young people’s lives.

Hannah Asquith, Youth Concern’s CEO said “We are so grateful to Fairhive and TPMS for this support. While some young people come to our Drop-in Centre to play pool, use our music studio or meet their friends, others come to us in crisis. Our counselling services, youth food bank and homelessness prevention work helps young people turn their lives around. This donation will positively impact 700+ young people in the next year. On each one of their behalves, thank you so much!”

Andrew Rysdale, Assistant Director of Property for Fairhive said “We greatly appreciate the opportunity to access the fund provided by Travis Perkins Managed Services. Our operatives’ work involves direct interaction with the community and we have witnessed the positive effect that charities like Youth Concern have on those living in the Aylesbury area. Several of our team members have collaborated with Youth Concern on previous projects including undertaking repairs and improvements to their residential house for homeless young adults located in Aylesbury, and have personally observed the exceptional dedication and effort put forth by Hannah and her team.”

Dan Marsden, Account Manager at Travis Perkins Managed Services added: “We are delighted that Travis Perkins Legacy Fund has been able to help such a worthwhile charity. The work Youth Concern does is essential to the community, helping those in need when they have nowhere else to go. We can’t wait to see what Youth Concern will do next and we’re thrilled to be a part of it.”
