Warwickshire branch of major employment agency looking to grow after moving to Coventry offices

The Warwickshire branch of a major employment agency is looking to grow its own team as it settles into a new office complex on the outskirts of Coventry.

Reed, which has moved into the Business Innovation Centre, Binley – part of the University of Warwick Science Park – is hopeful of expanding its current team of eight as it adapts to a shifting labour market.

The branch, which covers the Coventry and Warwickshire region and beyond, is part of Reed – the largest family-run recruiter in the UK. The team are specialists in sourcing professionals at all levels across a number of sectors including business support, accountancy and finance, engineering, and procurement and supply chain.

Rachel Oldfield, Senior Area Manager for Warwickshire at Reed, believes the recruitment market will begin to balance out over the next few years, having been a candidate’s market for so long.

However, Rachel also felt it will remain a candidate’s market for the foreseeable future with businesses, now more than ever, needing to focus strongly on rewards and benefits to both attract and retain the best talent – which was the driving factor behind its own move.

Reed opted to move to the Business Innovation Centre, Binley after wanting to update the facilities and amenities available to staff from its previous Coventry city centre location, and the team were impressed with the centre’s location and accessibility.

“Car parking and space came at a premium in our previous city centre location,” Rachel added.

“At the Business Innovation Centre, office parking is no longer a privilege, it’s accessible for the whole team, which is a huge plus. The location is fantastic too.

“What’s also brilliant from a business point of view is that we actually have a number of customers nearby – some are even based from the Business Innovation Centre, and we’re already seeing the benefits of being able to pop in and visit them to build those relationships further.

“The environment is so much better for our co-members and our customers too, it’s much more spacious, and we’ve already been told there’s room for expansion within the Innovation Centre should we need it.

“We’re really excited to grow our branch further here and add to the 100 years’ worth of experience that our team already has.”

Victoria Lynch, Centre Manager at the Business Innovation Centre, added: “It’s brilliant that Reed has settled into its new office here so quickly and is already reaping the benefits that the centre provides.

“Many of our tenants appreciate having lots of like-minded businesses around them, and it’s great that Reed is already networking with its current clients who are also tenants.

“We’ve had great feedback from Rachel and the team, and we look forward to supporting them further as they grow here.”
