Charlie, based in Bristol, joins from Barcan & Kirby Solicitors where she represented parents and family members in care proceedings and the pre-proceedings process.

Bringing more than three years’ experience as a Child Care Proceedings solicitor to the role, she specialises in matters relating to non-accidental injury, domestic abuse, sexual abuse, addiction issues and neglect.  Charlie is very experienced in supporting clients who struggle with mental health and learning difficulties.

Rhiannon Daniels, based in London, also joins the firm’s national Child Care Proceedings department, bringing more than 2 years’ experience as an assistant solicitor to the role, having previously worked at a Bedfordshire based law firm and in-house at Shropshire council.

She specialises in representing families in disputes relating to the care of children, whether care proceedings brought by the local authority, or privately between parents or other individuals. Her range of work also focuses on representing people who need protection from domestic abuse.

The pair have been welcomed by Simpson Millar’s Head of Child Care Proceedings, Patricia Cannon, who said:

“Charlie and Rhiannon bring with them excellent experience in delivering expert legal advice in representing those facing care proceedings, domestic abuse and other legal issues involving their children and the local authority.

“Their experience and passion mean that they are perfectly placed to support our clients, many of whom are experiencing a highly emotional time in their lives and are reliant on us to offer the very best advice and empathy.

“Charlie and Rhiannon truly embody many of our values here at Simpson Millar, most importantly offering our clients transparent and forward-thinking legal services, and it is a real privilege to have them both on board.”
