New Head of Interim Recruitment joins Macmillan Davies as demand for short term, specialist talent is set to increase

Macmillan Davies has expanded its London-based team with the appointment of Associate Director and Head of its Interim recruitment offering, Amy Smith. The appointment came shortly before the news of the IR35 reform coming in April 2023.

“The review of the IR35 regulations could have not come at a better time. The UK Government, like Macmillan Davies, understands the critical need for interim talent in driving growth – the plan to remove the IR35 roadblock can only be positive and increase the amount of readily available interim talent.” explains Amy.

Amy has over ten years’ experience working within the interim field spanning numerous sectors across the UK and internationally. Over the duration of her career, Amy has successfully placed more than 200 candidates in new interim positions, both long and short term across all levels of seniority, from junior through to COO.

Darren Hayman, Managing Director of Macmillan Davies comments: “Interim management has long been a core part of Macmillan Davies. With the employment indices at their highest in over two years, and with a short supply of talent due to Covid and Brexit, the need to bring in short term, specialist talent on an interim basis will increasingly be seen as the best solution to many organisations’ workforce dilemmas. As such, I am delighted that we are once again growing our dedicated team of interim specialists and once again focusing on positioning Macmillan Davies as the UK’s leading provider of HR Interim’s.”

On joining the firm Amy says “I am very excited to be joining Macmillan Davies and to use my experience to head up our interim offering. We share the same core values, and I am delighted to become part of a team dedicated to providing a professional, yet personal service, to Interim HR Professionals. My passion and expertise have always been within interim recruitment, and I will use this, as well as my commitment and drive, to bring the best recruitment solutions to both candidates and clients alike.”

As the UK’s longest established HR recruitment consultancy, Macmillan Davies specialises in recruiting the top HR talent across the public, private and third sectors – both in the UK and globally. The firm has seen double-digit growth and a surge in demand for its services over the last 6 months which Darren Hayman, Managing Director at the firm believes is a sign the business is recovering from the dual threats of Covid and the impact of the exit from the European Union.
