Intelligent FS, a leading construction and fit out company, is setting its sights on an ambitious move to make all tall buildings across the UK safe with fireproof cladding.
The national company, which has a specialist cladding and facade division to ensure fire compliance in high-rise buildings, has helped design and install an array of cladding solutions on behalf of housing developers since the Grenfell Tower disaster in 2017.
Since the Grenfell inferno, Intelligent FS has helped secure safe cladding on numerous non-compliant buildings across the country.
In April 2022, more than 35 homebuilders agreed to put £2bn towards fixing unsafe cladding on high-rise buildings in England identified in the aftermath of the 2017 tragedy, in plans announced by the Secretary or State for Levelling Up, Michael Gove MP.
Now, with news that Government will fully fund the cost of replacing unsafe cladding for all leaseholders in residential buildings 18 metres (6 storeys) and over in England, Intelligent FS wants to expand its capacity ‘five-fold’ to help the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities achieve its mission.

“We believe we have a moral duty to ensure all residents who live in tall buildings can go to sleep at night safe in the knowledge that, in the event of a fire breaking out, their home is fitted with fireproof cladding.
“With hundreds of buildings still languishing with unsafe facades, we want to work with the Government and developers to help ease the burden. That’s why we are expanding our operations five-fold to gear up for this necessary work. We are keen to start conversations with Ministers, developers, leaseholders and any other parties who would like to take this forward.
“Peoples safety is our number one priority – that’s why we need all UK high-rise buildings to be fitted with the correct cladding.”
