Liverpool boutique hotel chain records ‘unprecedented’ sellout bookings as popularity soars

A new Liverpool City Centre boutique hotel has enjoyed ‘unprecedented’ success after opening in December.

The Phoenix Pods, sister site of popular Kirkdale establishment The Phoenix Hotel, offers ‘affordable luxury’ to customers, situated just minutes from the city centre and iconic waterfront, with 32 rooms available at capacity.

James Winters and Rob Edwards of Edwards Winters Developments initially transformed their first hotel property, The Phoenix Hotel in Kirkdale, from an abandoned building into a luxury hotel.

Due to the rapid success of the venture, Winters and Edwards opened a second site, The Phoenix Pods, on the edge of the city centre.

And, with the Aintree Grand National and the internationally popular Eurovision Song Content heading to Liverpool this Spring, both The Phoenix Hotel and Phoenix Pods have sold out their availability across the two events.

This spearheads a strong opening performance from the Phoenix Pods, with rooms selling out quickly with tourists, football supporters and traveling businesspeople.

The Phoenix Hotel, in Anfield, is home to post-match recordings of popular Liverpool FC fan podcast The Anfield Wrap, while musician Willow Smith, daughter of Hollywood legend Will Smith, booked out the entire property for her recent visit to Liverpool.

The Pods, meanwhile, boast widescreen televisions and private shower facilities in each room, as well as a spacious communal area for large groups of guests and those seeking a longer stay.

All guests are given free WiFi and have access to a 24 hour reception to take care of all their needs while in Liverpool.

Responding to the success of Phoenix Pods and the continued strong performance of The Phoenix Hotel, James Winters said:

“Rob and I are delighted because our original ethos with The Phoenix was always ‘affordable luxury’.

“The Phoenix Pods are no different. We provide guests the highest standard of accommodation while ensuring our prices remain honest and competitive inside the city centre.

“The demand for rooms around two major events for the city, The Grand National and Eurovision, has been unprecedented. For a new hotel like Phoenix Pods to be receiving such major demand shows we are doing something right!

“To continue to fill our sites, and know we are representing the city of Liverpool and providing first-class accommodation to guests from around the world makes me feel very proud.”
