How Many Press Releases Are Sent Out on a Daily Basis?

According to a study conducted by PR Web, an online press release distribution service, the average number of press releases distributed through their service has increased significantly over the past 10 years. In 2013, the average number of press releases distributed through PR Web was around 500 per day. By 2018, this number had more than doubled to around 1,000 press releases per day.

This trend is likely reflective of the growing importance of press releases as a tool for businesses, organizations, and individuals to share news and information with the media. With the proliferation of the internet and the increasing importance of online marketing, press releases have become an increasingly popular way to reach a wider audience and generate buzz around a brand.

But the increase in press release distribution is not limited to press release distribution services. Many companies and organizations also distribute press releases directly to media outlets, further contributing to the growing number of press releases being distributed.

According to PR Newswire, a global press release distribution service, the number of press releases distributed through their service has also increased significantly over the past decade. In 2012, PR Newswire distributed around 250,000 press releases. By 2019, this number had increased to over 500,000 press releases.

The growing number of press releases being distributed is indicative of the changing nature of the media landscape. With the rise of social media and the increasing importance of online marketing, press releases have become a crucial tool for businesses and organizations to share their news and message with the public.

In another survey conducted by PR Newswire, a global press release distribution service, press releases are used by 78% of journalists to find story ideas. Additionally, press releases can help to improve search engine rankings and drive website traffic, as they often include links to the company’s website.
