Handcrafted South Warwickshire Drink Features On ITV Show Celebrating Coronation

Celebrities and drinks experts toasted the Coronation with an award-winning drink handcrafted in Alcester on ITV at the weekend.

St Maur elderflower liqueur was among those receiving the taste test from drinks expert Andy Clarke in Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh when it aired at on Saturday. (May 6th)

Titchmarsh was joined by guests Sheila Ferguson, of The Three Degrees; actor Adrian Scarborough and royal composer Debbie Wiseman, to toast the new monarch in the final segment which looks at the best street party cocktails.

Andy Clarke pairs St Maur with with Windsor & Eton Brewery’s ‘Return of the King’ beer for the Coronation Ale Cooler which he creates exclusively for the show.

It’s a fitting tribute for the south Warwickshire drink brand with aristocratic connections. St Maur was first created exclusively by William and Kelsey Seymour, Earl and Countess of Yarmouth, for their own wedding guests in 2018 at Ragley Hall in Alcester, before deciding to turn it into a full-time family business.

William said: “Having St Maur in the spotlight on a prominent Sunday TV show, Alan Titchmarsh Love Your Weekend, and to be chosen as a toast to the monarch on the Coronation weekend, in a St Maur cocktail made specially to feature as one of the “best street party cocktails” recommended for the nation, is quite an accolade.

“We are about enter our third year in business with St Maur, so this is definitely a highlight for us. It’s a great way to introduce our “little drop of England’s heart” to a wider audience and to take part in the national celebrations. It’s all the more poignant because we make St Maur to mix, share and enjoy with those you love to be with, and that’s the spirit of the Coronation holiday weekend too.”

Today, the proud producers have four prestigious industry awards to their name, including Best English Floral in the World Liqueur Awards, Great Taste Award 2 Star rating, an International Spirits Challenge Silver Award and Gold at the Las Vegas Global Spirits Awards.

Provenance is core to the brand’s success. The map co-ordinates on the St Maur label lead to Ladies Wood and an elder grove in the ancient Ragley Woodlands, now cared for by Earl of Yarmouth Estates. Here and in the hedgerows on their farm, on early summer mornings, the Yarmouths can be found harvesting wild elderflower for their hand-crafted premium drink.

There’s also a red-legged partridge on the bottle, a bird successfully introduced to England in the 19th century by an ancestor Francis Seymour, the 5th Marquess, and now the brand’s mascot.

Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh is still available to watch on ITV Catch Up.
