A fast-growing Teesside firm renowned for its valuable insights on the energy market has been crowned company of the year.
Stockton-on-Tees-based EnAppSys beat off stiff competition to win the accolade in the Tees Tech Awards 2022.
Established in 2003, the company is a highly respected provider of data, consultancy and information services to companies in the energy and power generation markets. These services are used by some of the biggest wholesale energy market participants in Europe – including generators, stakeholders, suppliers and traders – to improve their understanding and maximise the value they are able to extract from the market.
EnAppSys is also at the cutting edge of the energy transition, empowering consumers to schedule their consumption to make it as green and cheap as possible.
Initially EnAppSys provided cloud-based data services to the GB power market but since its formation the company has grown into a multi-million-pound turnover operation with 35 staff and a base in Terneuzen, the Netherlands.
Director Phil Hewitt said: “It’s fantastic that our work has been recognised locally in this year’s Tees Tech Awards. As we’ve grown, we’ve strengthened our presence in overseas markets so we’re very well-known across Europe, but less so here in the north east of England. That’s something we’d like to change as we embark on the next stage of our expansion.”
Organised by Tees Business in partnership with Middlesbrough Digital and DigitalCity, the third annual Tees Tech Awards attracted more than 300 attendees for a night of tech celebration at Hardwick Hall Hotel.
