Decision Time nets Irish Football Association as latest big-league client

World’s fourth oldest football governing body opts for Antrim-firm’s software

Decision Time has secured a new contract with the Irish Football Association (IFA) meaning the official governing body for soccer here is now using the Antrim firm’s software solutions to help ensure effective governance in NI’s biggest sport.

Founded in 1880, the IFA is the world’s fourth oldest football governing body. It is made up of three entities: the IFA, the Stadium Development Company, and the IFA Foundation, all of which have their own boards and committees.

To help ensure effective governance and good management across all of its entities, the IFA has procured two of Decision Time’s products for meeting management and risk management.

The contract adds another significant name to Decision Time’s blue-chip customer-base that includes Tourism NI, Translink, Royal Mail, and HM Land Registry. Decision Time also works with more than 90 housing association customers and over 30 credit unions.

Geoff Higgins, Managing Director of Decision Time, said: “Good governance and effective management are critical for a governing body so that it can ensure efficient use of public money, good management of the football estate, and success on the pitch, whilst making a positive contribution to civic life.”

“We are really pleased that the IFA has chosen Decision Time’s software to help ensure it continues to be an effective custodian of the game here and that our products will be used by boards, committees and management teams across the IFA’s three entities,” he adds.

Corinne Lannie, Risk Manager at the IFA, said: “Decision Time has allowed us to streamline and improve risk management, providing an efficient platform to focus on the risks that matter and ensure our leaders are aware of them and able to make the right decisions to mitigate them. On a practical level, it’s easy for me to pull reports, it’s easy for me to maintain, and I don’t have to worry about version control. It’s also easy to present papers in a visually appealing way that makes board and committee members’ jobs a bit easier.”

Rebekah Shearer, Solicitor & Company Secretary at the IFA, said: “One of our board members had previously used Decision Time’s board meeting software on another board and thoroughly recommended it. The IFA had also been using Decision Time’s risk management software. So, we made the decision to move to Decision Time for board meetings as well and it has been extremely successful – saving time, engaging board members in a more effective way, and ultimately helping improve our organisation.”

Earlier this year, Decision Time, became part of Advanced, the UK’s third largest provider of business software and services with a £254m turnover, 19,000+ customers and over 2,400 employees.
