Global restaurant chain Chicken Cottage Ltd has announced plans to invest over half a million pounds in the Greater Manchester region and create around 25 new jobs.
The expansion began this week with the launch of a new ‘cloud’ kitchen to meet increased online demand. The outlet has employed seven new team members and offers a delivery-only service, featuring a full fusion menu of halal grilled and fried chicken and recently launched IMPOSSIBLETM “Chicken” nuggets made from plants and ‘build your own burger’ range.
The site will deliver within a 2.5-mile radius of the base in Ardwick, Manchester from 4.30 pm to 1 am, Sunday to Wednesday and 4.30 pm to 3 am on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Customers can order by downloading the Chicken Cottage App or visiting the website.
Two more quick-service restaurants are currently in the planning stages with several potential sites being reviewed across Greater Manchester. These two new restaurants will offer eat in, take away and delivery services, increasing the number of Chicken Cottage outlets across the region to seven.
The new ‘cloud’ kitchen in Ardwick and the two new sites set to follow, will be operated by the Chicken Cottage head office team, however as a franchise business, the company would welcome any inquiries from individuals in the region who wish to operate their own Chicken Cottage franchise.
Chicken Cottage Ltd Group CEO, Shahrin Imran said: “We are delighted to be expanding across Greater Manchester. This is in response to increased demand from customers in the region who are looking for the authentic East meets West fusion of flavours our famous products offer.”
At the same time as expanding its venues, Chicken Cottage Ltd has launched a new App enabling customers to order quickly and securely. The App also features a new loyalty scheme with free Chicken Cottage products on offer for those signing up.
Group Chief Operating Officer at Chicken Cottage Ltd, Greg Milne added: “This is our latest expansion initiative in response to customer demands and follows our recent announcement to open 50 new restaurants in East Africa in partnership with Express Kitchen Ltd, a subsidiary of AAH Limited, the majority shareholder of Hass Petroleum Group.
“Our new App is part of our digital transformation strategy and has been launched to make it easier for all our customers to order quickly and securely and receive rewards for being a loyal Chicken Cottage customer. It is currently available for our new outlet in Ardwick and is set to roll out across the UK.”
Chicken Cottage Ltd, whose headquarters are based in Croydon, was established in 1994 to bring Halal grilled and fried chicken to the community living in Wembley. It now attracts customers from all communities, and currently operates more than 75 restaurants across the world.
