Ipswich, 12 JULY: Leading executive search firm Barrington Hibbert Associates, has today partnered with the Ipswich Town women’s football team, one of the oldest football clubs in the UK. The initiative is aimed at supporting women’s football by providing sponsorship for bench-wear, warm-up jerseys and substitute coats.
The partnership comes as the audience for women’s sport has grown dramatically, with a record 33 million people tuning in last year, and viewership for women’s football predicted to grow by more than 360 percent globally by 2024.
With the European Championships having kicked off in England on 6th July, the spotlight is shining on women’s football, providing an opportunity for more businesses to take the initiative to support the women’s game.
Michael Barrington-Hibbert, CEO of Barrington Hibbert Associates, is a former professional football player who had the opportunity to coach women’s football teams whilst based in the United States. Michael said, “Having had the opportunity to play and coach football at a professional level, I’ve experienced how the power of sport can bring people from all walks of life and backgrounds together. As a long-time fan of women’s football, and more specifically the brilliant Tractor Girls, it’s a real honour to do my part in supporting the team as they prepare for an exciting new season, and I’m really looking forward to watching them build on their record-breaking FA Cup quarter final appearance earlier this year. The increasing interest in the women’s game is hugely positive, and something that I hope will continue for many years to come.”
