Alcedo Care Group expands recruitment team

Alcedo Care Group has appointed Crissie Atkinson from Liverpool as group resourcing project manager.

Working closely with head of recruitment John Townley, she is responsible for supporting all recruitment and retention-related projects providing consistency across all areas to facilitate and further drive growth.

Well qualified, Crissie has more than eight years’ experience in recruitment working in both internal and agency roles across different industry sectors including IT, digital, education and healthcare.  She became passionate about healthcare recruitment specifically when she started working for Bupa recruiting carers and nurses for care homes across the UK.

Crissie’s career has also taken her to the other side of the world where she spent a challenging couple of years in the outback of Australia recruiting registered nurses for hospitals across New South Wales.

Returning to the UK after the pandemic, she worked for a healthcare agency recruiting for care homes, community care and complex care settings, and during her time at this agency she progressed professionally from recruitment consultant to team leader and learning development manager.

Proud of her achievements, she is ready to take the next step and was attracted to Alcedo due to its great reputation, passionate team and commitment to quality of care.

Crissie said: “I am a real people-person, love working as a team and helping others and am genuinely very excited about joining such a forward thinking and innovative organisation with values that mirror my own. The culture and support offered is incredible, it is like working within a huge family community.  Given the rate at which the company is growing, there is such potential for my own growth and career development which is important to me.”

Head of recruitment, John Townley, added: “Crissie has such a passion for recruitment within the care industry and I am confident that she will help grow our team with exactly the right calibre of passionate and dedicated carers to deliver our exceptional care services to those wishing to remain independent in their own homes.  I’m very much looking forward to working with her.”

32-year-old Crissie has a degree in psychology and a Level 3 qualification in counselling skills.  She grew up in South Africa until the age of seven, her family lives in Yorkshire but she is settled with her partner of nine years in Liverpool where they enjoy walking their dachshund Toby, going out with friends, going to the gym and relaxing.  They both love to travel and to see new places.

Recently rated one of the Top 20 home care groups for the third year running, Alcedo Care offers Domiciliary Care Services, Live-in Care, Nurse-Led Complex Care Services, Supported Living and Children’s Services and has fast gained an enviable reputation as the home care provider of choice in the North West thanks to its superb 1,000-strong team of highly skilled and compassionate carers who make a tangible difference to the quality of life of the company’s home care clients.

Run by passionate husband and wife team, Andy and Jo Boardman, and with the support of their fantastic management team, the company is expanding at pace and aims to double in size over the next 12 months with the recruitment of more than 1,000 new carers.
