Leading gaming company MERKUR Slots has invested £40,000 to transform its entertainment centre in Ilkeston, in a bid to accelerate business growth in the venue and drive increased high street footfall.
The major refurbishment of the venue on Bath Street in the town is part of a nationwide programme that will see MERKUR Slots invest over £5 million on UK high streets over the next 12 months to open new venues, support local economies and create new jobs.
Mark Schertle, chief operating officer of MERKUR Slots’ parent company MERKUR Casino UK, said: “The transformation of our Ilkeston venue outlines our long-term commitment to the town and our pride in continually investing and innovating in the local area, to help create a vibrant high street that generates employment and encourages visitors.
“It means a lot to be able to support the local community and economy in Ilkeston and surrounding areas via this refurbishment, having already generated over 600 jobs across the UK in the last 12 months through developing existing venues and opening new ones.”
The revamped Ilkeston venue features the latest digital slot machines, with the emphasis firmly on low stake gaming and pay-outs ranging from £5 to £500. It also features an extensive library of new and classic games.
Mark, added: “Our overall aim by transforming our Ilkeston venue into a state-of-the-art entertainment centre, is to give new and existing customers a unique gaming experience in an environment that reflects the scale of our investment.
“I’m sure it will be really well received by customers new and old.”
